Medsafe has given the Pfizer vaccine provisional approval two more years - until November 3, 2023

87 percent of the eligible population has had one jab ... with just under 11 thousand first doses administered across the country yesterday.

Auckland has hit 91 percent of the population with one dose.

Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says for the next two years, Pfizer must meet certain conditions.

He says that includes supplying data from clinical trials around the world, safety monitoring ... and any manufacturing updates.

Medsafe can decide to give the company full approval any time in the next two years.
