Financial pressures are taking a mental toll on the owners of small to midsize enterprises

Financial pressures are taking a mental toll on the owners of small to midsize enterprises

According to MYOB's latest Business Monitor, 37 percent of local SME owners have experienced a mental health condition since starting or taking over their business.

The number increases to 45 percent, amongst those who've seen their revenue decline in the past year.

MYOB spokesperson Anna-Louise Hoffmann says some leaders are taking steps to improve their mental health.

She says they're turning to exercise, social time with friends and family and hobbies outside of work.
