    Questions about the impact of the first phase of changes to the Police approach to mental health callouts -- as the second phase gets underway today


    In a staged rollout, officers in four Police districts - Waitemata, Counties Manukau, Waikato, and Tasman - will now carry out 60 minute ED handovers.

    Waikato University School of Health Associate Professor Sarah Gordon wants a comprehensive evaluation of the impact so far, on people who experience mental distress.

    She says it should look at what alternative services they could or couldn't access.
