Midwives will now be able to administer vaccinations to babies

In August last year, community midwives became funded to deliver antenatal immunisations to pregnant women.
Midwives will now be able to administer vaccines to mothers after birth, babies, and eligible family members until the baby is 12-months-old.
Health Minister Simeon Brown says these are trusted health professionals and the extension gives both infants and adults more opportunity to get the protection they need.
