A deep dive into our policing reveals inequities remain at large - spanning race, gender, sexuality and mental health

A deep dive into our policing reveals inequities remain at large - spanning race, gender, sexuality and mental health

A ground-breaking three year study into systemic bias in the police has been released.

The report suggests measures to make policing fairer - across areas including police business, training, accountability and policy.

One of the authors, AUT law professor Khylee Quince, says ongoing consultation with the frontline police force provides valuable insights - and is something that many other agencies could learn from.

She says building a high level of trust and confidence in police makes policing safer for the front line and the community as a whole.
