New Zealanders now have more options to tackle cancer

New Zealanders now have more options to tackle cancer

Pharmac is funding six more cancer drugs and one for antibiotic resistant infections from today.

The medicines slow the disease's progression, potentially improving survival, and one reduces the time people spend in hospital for treatment.

Pharmac expects about 180 people with cancer will benefit over the next year - and 30 with resistant infections.
