Philip Polkinghorne won't be giving evidence at his murder trial

The Auckland eye surgeon is accused of killing his wife, Pauline Hanna, in 2021, but claims she killed herself.
Ron Mansfield, KC, has opened the defence's case today.
He's told the court Polkinghorne will gain nothing by giving evidence, with the best evidence in his police interview, already shown.
The murder accused's family is in court today - his sister and three adult sons.
Hanna's family is also present, including her brother and sister.
