New evidence may be presented in the murder case of two Swedish tourists in 1989

New evidence may be presented in the murder case of two Swedish tourists in 1989

David Tamihere was jailed for Urban Hoglin and Heidi Paakkonen's murders, but maintains his innocence.

In July, The Court of Appeal upheld the convictions - but now the Supreme Court has announced it will hear his appeal.

Tamihere says new evidence has sprouted since the Court of Appeal's decision.

He hopes it will be presented to a jury - along with witnesses being cross-examined.
