An arrest warrant's out for a Taupo man who didn't turn up to court yesterday - over making death threats against Jacinda Ardern

An arrest warrant's out for a Taupo man who didn't turn up to court yesterday - over making death threats against Jacinda Ardern

Richard Sivell was convicted in October of threatening to hang Ardern when she was Prime Minister.

The 43-year-old went on the run for more than a year while on bail for the charges in 2022.

He was due in Tauranga District Court for sentencing yesterday, but contacted it to say he didn't have transport to Tauranga, and didn't show.

The Judge says it's not the first time, and Police have issued an arrest warrant.
