    An Australian woman is accused of poisoning her one-year-old girl with unnecessary medications to boost her social media profile


    The 34-year-old woman, who cannot be identified, today appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court.

    Her lawyer's seeking protective custody due to the publicity of the case.

    The woman's accused of giving her child unauthorised prescription and pharmacy medications, which led to tens of thousands in donations via social media.

    The charges include torture, administering poison, fraud, and making child exploitation material.
