Appeals for public financial support as a sexual violence support group prepares for 2026 funding cuts

Appeals for public financial support as a sexual violence support group prepares for 2026 funding cuts

HELP Auckland's launched an urgent holiday appeal amidst record levels of child sexual abuse and rising digital harm.

It follows the Government's confirmation in September, that 1.7-million-dollars of national funding will be withdrawn.

Executive Director Kathryn McPhillips says they expect this to have an impact mid year.

She says sexual violence is a massive problem, and the lack of investment is disappointing.
