Newly convicted double murderer Hakyung Lee's set to learn her sentence in late November

A jury's found the 45-year-old murdered her two primary school aged children, Yuna and Minu Jo in 2018.

Their bodies were found in suitcases purchased from an abandoned storage unit in 2022.

Lee raised an insanity defence, claiming she was driven to madness by her husband's death in the months before.

She said it was a failed suicide attempt, as she wanted her kids to die alongside herself so they didn't have to grow up without parents.

However it wasn't enough to convince a jury this afternoon, finding her guilty of both murder charges.
