Three men involved in the biggest methamphetamine seizure at the border New Zealand law enforcers had ever seen have been jailed

Customs discovered over 713-kilograms of the drug hidden in maple syrup bottles from Canada in January 2023.

There was enough of the drug to roughly supply every addict in the country for a year.

The men involved in the New Zealand side of the importation were sentenced today in the High Court at Auckland.

Wenfu Zhang received a 10 year 10 month sentence for one charge of importing methamphetamine.

Tayzel Tini and Liam Prasad each received seven years and two months on one possession for supply charge.
