A victim of a brutal dog attack in Kaipara says he warned for years the dogs were a danger, but no one listened

In March four dogs attacked Nathan Pilkington and a woman in Kaitaia.

The woman had to be airlifted to hospital, and Pilkington was left with deep scars on his arms and legs.

Earlier this month the owner of the dogs was convicted of owning a dog that caused injury and sentenced to 180 hours' community work.

Pilkington says the biggest impact has been the frustration of seeing the warning signs for years, but being unable to do anything until people were physically harmed.
