A vigil will be held this morning at the Auckland bus stop where an American PhD student was killed on Saturday night

A vigil will be held this morning at the Auckland bus stop where an American PhD student was killed on Saturday night

33-year-old Kyle Whorrall suffered serious head injuries - after a seemingly random attack on St John's Road in Meadowbank.

A group of students and staff from the nearby St John's Theological College will lead the vigil at 9:30.

Organisers say they want to reclaim the neighbourhood with life, warmth and care.

Police are still trying to track down at least two occupants of a black SUV, believed to have carried out the attack - and the driver of a white ute who was cut off by the SUV.
