A serious assault in an upmarket Auckland suburb may have stemmed from inter-school rivalry

A young person was due at the Youth Court yesterday after an incident in Arney Crescent in Remuera on Thursday night.

They've been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, after two teenagers were seriously hurt.

Several people close to the incident have told the Herald the fight happened between two school groups at a party.

Police have not confirmed this.
