The Toyota's RAV4's held it's top spot as the favourite passenger car - in a standout month for vehicle sales

The Toyota's RAV4's held it's top spot as the favourite passenger car - in a standout month for vehicle sales

Close to 12 thousand vehicles were registered in June - about 26 percent more than a year ago.

Car and SUV sales jumped nearly 36 percent from last year - and light commercial vehicles had their best month since April last year.

Motor Industry Association's Alan Seay , says we can't discount the role the Government's Investment Boost has played.

He says there's a general feeling the economy's turned a corner and we could expect to see some uplift in sales - but it's only one month.
