Mike Pero's parking plans to launch a new airline to the Cook Islands

Mike Pero's parking plans to launch a new airline to the Cook Islands

He'd planned to lease Boeing 737s to link Wellington and Christchurch with Rarotonga when there was a Covid-19 travel bubble.

But Pero's shelved his Pasifika Air project because of continued uncertainty over the bubble's timing and the cost of committing to aircraft leases.

He's already sunk several hundred thousand dollars into the project.

The New Zealand and Cook Islands governments are working towards opening a bubble next month.
