Alex Reid's fiancée may need surgery for internal bleeding and blood clotting after giving birth

Alex, 46, and Nikki Manashe, 36, welcomed daughter Anastasia Pixie Reid on July 13 but Alex revealed on Thursday (22.07.21) that Nikki and Anastasia are both still in hospital and they are anxiously waiting to hear if Nikki needs surgery

He wrote on Instagram: "Just to update everyone @ivf_mama_nikki is in hospital with Anastasia Pixie and is being well looked after. Tomorrow we find out if she needs surgery for internal bleeding and blood clotting. Keep us in your thoughts please."

This comes after Alex enjoyed "one of the happiest days" of his life as he celebrated his 46th birthday on Wednesday (21.07.21) with his fiancée and their newborn daughter.

Alex shared an adorable photo of himself lying in bed with the tot on his Instagram account and admitted there was no better birthday gift than becoming a new dad.

He captioned the post: "I really don’t think I can get a better birthday present than Anastasia Pixie Reid.

"This is one of the best days of my entire life. Sorry if I haven’t replied to everyone I’m overwhelmed with the love for my little Pixie.

"Daddy duties, sleepless nights and dirty nappies are the best!!"

He later added: "We may be in hospital for my birthday, but all will be ok, and I have the best birthday present of my life, little Anastasia Pixie Reid."

Alex and Nikki went through multiple rounds of IVF treatment to conceive and after revealing they were expecting twins back in November following a gruelling fertility battle, she sadly miscarried one of the babies in December 2020.

Fitness instructor Nikki announced that the couple had welcomed Anastasia into the world by posting a beautiful poem on social media.

It read: "Welcome to the world little Miss Reid I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. Our life together has just begun You're part of me my little one.

"As mother with child, each day I grew, My mind has always been with thoughts of you. As you lay next to me I dim the light, I whisper, 'I will always say I love you' every night.

"I loved you from the very start, You stole my breath, embraced my heart. As mother and child our journey has just begun, My heart's yours forever my perfect little one."

Alex has another child, daughter Dolly, whom he had with former partner, fellow 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Chantelle Houghton.

The reality TV star was also briefly married to Katie Price, tying the knot with the ex-glamour model in February 2010 before splitting less than a year later with their divorce finalised in March 2012.
