Travis Kelce has bought a stake in a racehorse named Swift Delivery

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has acquired a "significant share" of the three-year-old gelding, as have the Zoldan Family, Team Valor International founder and CEO Barry Irwin, the animal's owner has announced

Swift Delivery was named before Travis started dating pop superstar Taylor Swift over a year ago, so it is unclear if the name swayed his investment or if it was just a coincidence.

According to Bloodhorse, the Zoldans have been members of Team Valor's syndicates for nearly four decades and this year, Travis attended the Kentucky Derby with the Phantom Fireworks owners thanks to his friendship with CEO Bruce Zoldan's son Alex.

After attending the sporting event, the 34-year-old NFL star admitted it had been a "dope experience".

He said on his 'New Heights' podcast: "I'm a Derby guy now, man. It was so much fun."

And not only did Travis relish being "part of the environment" of the races, he was particularly excited to attend with the Zoldans, who previously had a Kentucky Derby winner in 2011 with Animal Kingdom, another ownership venture with Team Valor.

He said: "They have been ingrained in the Derby for 30 years. The Zoldans are rightfully treated like royalty there. They made it easy and fun to come out there and enjoy the Derby."

The news comes shortly after it was announced Travis and his brother Jason Kelce have signed a nine-figure deal with Wondery for their podcast.

Jen Sargent, the CEO of Wondery, told The Hollywood Reporter: "We've been watching the growth of the podcast, really since it was launched, and I have been building a relationship with Travis and Jason and getting to know them for a while now.

"Sports is a really exciting category for podcast listeners. It's a strategic priority of Wondery's and Amazon's. So there were a lot of reasons to think about joining forces here on the 'New Heights' podcast."

'New Heights' will still be available on all podcast services and on YouTube, while Wondery will also offer ad-free listening to its subscribers.

The podcast studio - which is owned by Amazon - will have the right to host live streams.

What's more, Wondery can develop, manufacture, license and distribute 'New Heights'-themed merchandise as part of the agreement.
