Sebastian Stan's mom was "very upset" with him at the Oscars

'The Apprentice' actor brought his mom Georgeta Orlovsch as his guest at Sunday's (02.03.25) Academy Awards but he admitted she was less than impressed with his appearance on the red carpet at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles

Speaking on 'Live From E! The Oscars red carpet', he admitted: "She was very upset I didn't shave tonight.

"So when I told her I can't because I have to do this other role-she was preferring I didn't have the beard."

However, Georgeta insisted she was "very proud" of her son, who was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role but...

She said: "He works very hard so he deserves the best, and I can't be more proud. He is adorable."

The 42-year-old actor admitted it was "surreal" to even be at the Oscars, let alone to have been nominated.

He said: "It's surreal. I'm just so happy to be here with her because you don't ever really think this is going to happen.

"You watch it on TV and you grow up with Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino and Denzel [Washington] and all these people so the fact that we're here is amazing."

And he insisted there was no one else he could have brought along than his mom.

He said: "It's been a long time coming but I had to have her here with me."

Sebastian recently admitted he'd been advised not to take on the role of a young Donald Trump in 'The Apprentice'.

Appearing on Variety's 'Awards Circuit Podcast', he explained: "This film has been the hardest thing I've ever done.

"Not just because of the complexities of playing Trump, but because of the reaction it provokes ...

"I had people telling me not to do it. They said it might alienate people, that I didn't look like him, that it was too dangerous. But for me, acting is about going toward the uncomfortable ... about trying to understand humanity, even in the darkest places."
