Hulk Hogan's son is suing Bubba The Love Sponge over his upcoming documentary

The radio presenter recently revealed he was planning to release Video Killed The Radio Star: The Untold Story Of The Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal - which chronicles how the late wrestler's illicit encounter with Bubba's then-wife Heather Clem was made public - later this month but Nick has filed a lawsuit in a Florida federal court over the film

According to TMZ, Nick, acting as a representative of his late dad's estate, has alleged the documentary infringes on his father's copyrights and trademarks because it includes unauthorised images from the sex tape.

In the lawsuit, Nick claimed some of the x-rated video was played in a newly-released trailer for Video Killed The Radio Star and accused Bubba of promoting the documentary using Hulk's trademarks without permissions.

In addition, the 35-year-old star claimed the release of the film would violate a settlement agreement - of which the details are redacted - Bubba and Hulk reached over the sex tape in 2012.

Nick is suing for unspecified damages and to stop the release of the documentary.

Hulk - who died in July aged 71 - famously sued Gawker Media for $100 million in 2013 after the online outlet posted a video clip in October 2012 of him having sex with Heather.

In 2015, a transcript from the tape was leaked revealing Hogan using the 'N-word' during a conversation about his daughter Brooke Hogan's then-boyfriend.

The exposed comments led to WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) terminating his contract and avoiding association with him for three years until he returned in 2018.

The tape had been secretly recorded in 2007 when Hogan was suffering from depression in the wake of his wife Linda Hogan filing for divorce and his son Nick's arrest and subsequent imprisonment over a serious car crash.

Hulk admitted he was at the lowest point in his life when he made his misguided comments and had even contemplated ending things as he hit rock bottom.

He had been seeking $100 million for defamation, loss of privacy, and emotional pain from Gawker and was awarded $115 million in March 2016 after winning the case.

In November 2016, Gawker reached a $31 million settlement with the wrestling icon.
