Luke Grimes' family have always been his "foundation"

The 40-year-old actor and his wife, Bianca, welcomed their baby boy six weeks ago, and Luke has revealed that he's loving the experience of fatherhood

He told PEOPLE: "It's just been magical to watch."

Luke is determined to "stay as in the moment as possible" - regardless of what's going on in his personal and professional life.

The 'Yellowstone' star said: "I know some of these things can be kind of overwhelming if you think about 'em all at once."

Luke also noted that his family have always been central to his life.

He shared: "I [have] a huge immediate family.

"I was the youngest of four. They all got married when I was still very young. So by the time I had nieces and nephews, starting at two years old, there was family everywhere all over the place. It was just sort of that way in Ohio and a Christian home, and so that was always my foundation."

Luke has enjoyed huge success in his career. But the actor always assumed that he'd find "real happiness" once he became a dad.

Luke said: "I knew one day I wanted to start my own family, and I knew that that was going to be where the real happiness came from. The other stuff was just going to pay the bills."

The actor previously pledged to be with Bianca "forever", describing the model as a "real angel".

Luke - who married Bianca back in 2018 - told told USA Today: "I'm a very married person and I love my wife to death. We'll be together forever.

"There's no way I earn it. I do my best. But I'm a flawed big ol' weird-a** man. She's the real angel here."
