Kiri Allan has been sentenced and convicted for the car crash that ended her political career

Kiri Allan has been sentenced and convicted for the car crash that ended her political career

The ex-Cabinet Minister crashed into a parked car in July last year.

It was revealed in court today Allan has a previous conviction for driving with excess breath alcohol.

Allan says the past year has been challenging and she wants the chapter closed.

Judge Brooke Gibson did NOT disqualify her from driving - instead ordering her to pay a 300 dollar fine and more than five-thousand dollars in reparations.

He accepts it's had significant consequences in terms of the impact on her career.
