    About 100 cars were involved in a series of illegal skid meets in the Canterbury area late last night and early this morning

    About 100 cars were involved in a series of illegal skid meets in the Canterbury area late last night and early this morning


    Police say they impounded three vehicles and issued 18 infringement notices.

    There were 6 meets in Christchurch and two in Rolleston.

    Police say they've deployed additional staff and resources across the country for the long weekend.
