The motorcycle community is mourning the loss of a 29-year-old motorbike rider after an 11-bike crash during a race in England

Father of two, Shane Richardson, was fatally injured in the first lap of the British Supersport Championship at the Oulton Park track near Liverpool.

21-year-old English rider Owen Jenner also died and another rider has "significant injuries".

Richardson had raced in Whanganui for about 10 years - including winning Cemetery Circuit many times.

Organiser Allan Willacy says Shane was a gentleman who'd do anything for anyone and he's in shock over the news.
