The unexpected global rebound after Covid-19 has pushed up petrol prices

The unexpected global rebound after Covid-19 has pushed up petrol prices

The national average price for 91 octane petrol in this country is $2.39 - slightly up on record highs in late 2018.

AA spokesman Mike Noon says not enough fuel's been coming out of countries that export fuel.

However, he says there's been high demand - because countries around the world are doing better than expected.

Noon says small businesses, and tourism and hospitality workers, are being badly hit.
