A group of children is calling on Wellington City Council to make playgrounds more exciting

The council's hearing submissions on its 10 year plan.

It includes controversial discussions including potentially selling the council's stake in Wellington Airport.

Kids from Clifton Terrace Model School reckon playgrounds need bigger slides and more fish in the ponds at the Botanic Gardens.

They also weighed in on the capital's water situation - saying the leaky plumbing should be fixed because Wellington's wasting lots of water.
