Emergency Management Otago Group Controller Matt Alley has acknowledged the huge amount of work ahead for many households, farmers and businesses in the aftermath of severe heavy rain

The State of Emergency notices have today been lifted in Dunedin and the Clutha District.

Mr Alley says people's welfare and wellbeing is now paramount.

He says anxiety is a normal response to a stressful situation and talking about it can be very useful.

The Rural Support Trust is also available with specialist help for those in the farming sector.

MSD has civil defence payments available for people in need of emergency food, clothing and bedding.
