    Fears a seabed mining project could undermine plans to bolster renewable energy


    The Government has unveiled 149 projects it'll include in its fast-tracked consenting legislation.

    They include housing developments, infrastructure, renewable energy, mining, aquiculture, farming and quarrying projects.

    Environmental Defence Society chief executive, Gary Taylor, says he's surprised Trans-Tasman Resources made the list.

    He says the company wants to use the same space off the coast of Taranaki as a planned offshore wind farm - which he says is a higher infrastructure priority.
