    Let's have a look at the weather across the country this Mother's Day ...


    Northland, Auckland and Coromandel A mix of sun and cloud ... long fine spells for Auckland.

    Lovely fine spells too for Bay of Plenty, Gisborne and Hawke's Bay

    Waikato to Wellington, including the central high country, also Wairarapa It's generally fin aside from some areas of morning cloud.

    Nelson and Marlborough, excluding the Kaikoura Coast Plenty of Sunday sunshine - however there will be some evening cloudy periods.

    Cloudy periods too for Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury and a few showers could develop this morning.

    Buller to Fiordland and also Stewart Island Mostly cloudy with isolated showers, clearing from Buller to Westland this morning with fine breaks developing.

    Cloudy with a few showers, clearing this morning for Otago and Southland.

    And it's a mainly sunny Sunday on the Chatham Islands - but perhaps the odd shower this afternoon.
