Auckland fire crews are tackling a 150-metre-long vegetation fire on Mullins Road, near the Ardmore Airport

The fire, which broke out about six this evening, has spread along multiple trees - but is contained to a shelter belt.

Powerlines running through the tress are thought to have sparked the fire - and are complicating the response.

Vector crews are reportedly on their way to shut off the power.
