Convoys will resume today through Waioweka Gorge

Convoys will resume today through Waioweka Gorge

The stretch of State Highway Two has re-opened for three convoys for essential each way, every day - with slip damage at multiple sites.

Heavy rain watches and warnings cover the North Island today and into tomorrow - apart from the Masterton, Wellington, and New Plymouth areas.

NZTA says there'll be four more convoys today before closing for the weekend.

State Highway 35 will also close from Lottin Point Road south, to Taurangakoau Bridge.
