Mahe Drysdale frustrated at lack of NZ women's or men's eight at world championships this week

Mahe Drysdale is frustrated but pragmatic at the lack of a New Zealand women's or men's eight at the world championships in the Czech Republic this week

The double Olympic champion can understand why the governing body have opted against pursuing the programme this season, despite picking up a silver and gold at last year's Games.

Drysdale says intellectual property has been lost, but resource will be saved.

Drysdale has been invited to the regatta to compete in a 500-metre tribute to the Czech Republic's most successful single sculler Ondrej Synek , on Monday morning.
