New Zealand's medal haul at the Paris Olympics has increased by a trifecta of gold, silver and bronze from the rowing course

New Zealand's medal haul at the Paris Olympics has increased by a trifecta of gold, silver and bronze from the rowing course

Lucy Spoors and Brooke Francis - both returning mums - won the doubles sculls.

The men's four of Logan Ullrich, Matt Macdonald, Tom Murray and Ollie Maclean earned silver - their women's counterparts Jackie Gowler, her sister Kerri Williams, Davina Waddy and Phoebe Spoors, sister of Lucy, took bronze.

Single scullers Emma Twigg and Tom Mackintosh have advanced to their finals tomorrow.

Finn Butcher has missed the canoe slalom final courtesy of a 50-second penalty when he missed one of the 23 gates.

The hunt for wind continues at Marseille after the abandonment of the men's skiff sailing final until tomorrow - Isaac McHardie and Will McKenzie were poised to earn medals but the races were stopped twice due to fickle breezes.

Windsurfer Josh Armit will advance directly into the semi-finals after finishing third across 13 preliminary races.

Veerle ten Have will contest the women's quarter-finals after finishing ninth from her 14 fleet races.

Ryan Fox has finished with a four-under par 67 in the opening round at the golf - he's in a tie for sixth, four strokes off the lead.

    Controversy in the boxing ring.

Italian Angela Carini withdrew 46 seconds into her 66-kilogram welterweight bout against Algerian Imane Khelif citing safety concerns.

Khelif was disqualified from last year's world championships in India due to elevated levels of testosterone.

She was cleared to compete at Paris by the IOC governing body.

The men's Black Sticks remain winless at the hockey - after a 5-nil trouncing by Australia.

China's Qinwen Zheng has ousted Polish world number one Iga Swiatek from the tennis semi-finals at Roland Garros, meaning she will play Croatia's Donna Vekic for gold.

To the pool... the women's 4 x 200 metres freestyle relay team are through to their final with the eighth fastest time.

Lewis Clareburt has qualified for the semi-finals of the 200 metres individual medley .

New Zealand are now up to 11th equal on the medal table with two gold, two silver and a bronze - China lead with 11 gold medals.
