The race is on for Breakers forward Karim Lopez to be fit for the start of the new season in basketball's Australian NBL

The league's top prospect for the next NBA draft, the 18-year-old Mexican has returned to New Zealand with a back injury sustained during the Adidas EuroCamp in June.

Lopez will not play at the pre-season Blitz tournament in Canberra at the end of this month - but the Breakers say they're confident he'll be fully recovered in time for their regular season opener on September 19.
