    A Christchurch woman isolating with Covid was battered to death with a hockey stick by her boarder and sometime lover - after she gave him notice to leave


    64-year-old Valerie Heaney was found dead in the hallway of her Bromley home in April.

    Today, 43-year-old Elliot Ajay Prakash has pleaded guilty to murder.

    Police originally treated Heaney's death as "unexplained" but launched a homicide inquiry after an autopsy.

    Prakash will be sentenced on September 9.
