Hockey New Zealand will decline the Black Sticks men's spot in the 2025-26 FIH Pro League

The Black Sticks earned a qualification spot after winning the Nations Cup last month in Malaysia.

Hockey New Zealand believe the format doesn't align with their high performance goals as it is too travel heavy, expensive and reduces home games.

The women's side also turned down a Pro League spot.
