The All Blacks backline to be named later this morning for Saturday's first test against Ireland has been scrunched up and redrawn a couple of times this week

The All Blacks backline to be named later this morning for Saturday's first test against Ireland has been scrunched up and redrawn a couple of times this week

Before catching double lines on RATs this week, Will Jordan was a certainty to start on the right wing and David Havili a probable starter in midfield.

Commentator Elliott Smith says that means coach Ian Foster and his assistant coach John Plumtree - both also in isolation - along with selector Grant Fox would have had some intriguing Zoom calls this week.

Sevu Reece is a likely starter for the right wing berth, while Quinn Tupaea is virtually the last man standing for the 12 berth - with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's debut likely to only come off the bench if at all this week.

Blues winger Mark Telea has joined the squad as a replacement for Jordan.
