The Hurricanes have beaten the Super Rugby Pacific champions, the Blues, in their final pre-season hit-out in Wainuiomata

The Blues scored first but the Hurricanes ran away with it from there, the Canes' halftime lead of 12-7 extending out to 31-19 by fulltime.

Meanwhile, fans hoping to select All Black Caleb Clarke in their team for Super Rugby Pacific's new Fantasy competition are out of luck.

New Zealand Rugby has confirmed the Blues wing is one of four players who have opted out of being included.

Players were given the option of whether they wanted to be involved in the Fantasy competition - or not.
