Williams driver Nicholas Latifi has apologised for crashing in Formula One's season finale, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Williams driver Nicholas Latifi has apologised for crashing in Formula One's season finale, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

He says it was not his intention to play such a major role in deciding the outcome of the championship.

Latifi's crash on lap 52 of 58 brought in the safety car which set up Max Verstappen's last lap pass on Lewis Hamilton for the win and championship.

Former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says Hamilton and Mercedes have no case if they appeal.
