    New Zealand driver Liam Lawson's failed to convert pole into victory on the opening day of racing at this weekend's Formula Two round in Baku


    Lawson crashed on the first lap alongside two others in the opening sprint race, forcing him to retire.

    He did recover to record a seventh in the second race.

    Fellow Kiwi Marcus Armstrong came in seventh in the first, but didn't to finish the second.
