Claims the death of a Queenstown woman while skiing at Coronet Peak, could've been prevented

Claims the death of a Queenstown woman while skiing at Coronet Peak, could've been prevented

Anita Graf died after skiing into a deer fence post, in front of a reservoir at the bottom of Sugar's Run in 2019.

The Otago Daily Times reports evidence has been given at a judge-alone trial of skifield owner NZSki in the Queenstown District Court.

Former manager of Ruapehu's Tukino ski area Sue Graham says the fence should've been protected by some type of safety net.

She says the accident was foreseeable because the posts had previously been identified as a potential hazard.
