A curiously-timed announcement for the United States men's football team in the lead-up to their international friendly kicking off against the All Whites in Cincinnati

A curiously-timed announcement for the United States men's football team in the lead-up to their international friendly kicking off against the All Whites in Cincinnati

Former Chelsea, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino will be their coach.

The 52-year-old Argentinean will lead the team into the 2026 World Cup - being co-hosted in the US.

Assistant Mikey Varas was put in an interim role for last weekend's match against Canada and today's game.

On the other side of the pitch, All Whites captain Chris Wood says their aim is to rectify their 3-nil loss to Mexico on Sunday.
