Phoenix forward Kosta Barbarouses admits there was no better way to score his 99th goal in football's A-League - than the way he did in the their 2-1 home victory over Newcastle

The All White intercepted a pass and chipped Jets keeper Ryan Scott from almost halfway.

Barbarouses says he was surprised to pull it off.

Auckland FC completed a good day for the Kiwi men's sides - thumping the Mariners 4-1 in Gosford to bounce back from their first defeat a week prior.
