Chris Wood has deflected credit for his Premier League goal-scoring heroics

Chris Wood has deflected credit for his Premier League goal-scoring heroics

The Kiwi striker's scored a hat-trick in the 7-nil pasting of Brighton, but has praised his team mates for providing the opportunities.

Only superstars Mo Salah and Erling Haaland have more goals than Wood's 17 for the season.

In this morning's other results Liverpool's lead on the top rung of the ladder has been extended following a 2-nil win at Bournemouth - Salah with both goals.

Southampton's earned just its second win of the season, beating Ipswich 2-1, Fulham's pipped Newcastle 2-1 and Everton has pounded Leicester 4-nil.

Wolves lead Aston Villa 1-nil at halftime.
