    The Wellington Phoenix have recorded a vital 2-1 win over Adelaide United in their home A-League fixture


    The 'Nix led one-nil at half-time after captain Alex Rufer scored his first goal of the season.

    Ramy Najjarine then put the Phoenix further ahead with his first goal in Wellington colours from the penalty spot.

    Adelaide then nabbed a goal to set up a nervy finish.

    Phoenix coach Giancarlo Italiano says they made things a lot harder than they should've been in the final 20.



    It's Wellington's second win of the campaign.
