    Global dairy prices have skyrocketed

    Global dairy prices have skyrocketed

The Global Dairy Trade index has jumped to 4.6 percent following the latest auction event today.

Whole milk powder, which has the biggest influence on farmgate prices in New Zealand, jumped 6.2 percent.

High Ground Dairy analyst, Stu Davison says it's a big move, more than they'd been expecting.

He says whole milk powder has seen three year highs - with only two prices in the last five years above the latest price.
