Kristin Cavallari has not spoken to her father for three years because he allegedly "traumatized" her children

The 38-year-old reality TV star decided to cut her dad Dennis Cavallari out of her life in the wake of an incident where his behaviour was "crossed the line" with one of her sons.

Kristin - who has two sons, Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and nine-year-old daughter Saylor with her ex-husband Jay Cutler - insists Dennis took "zero accountability" for his actions and so it became an easy decision for her to simply cease having a relationship with him.

Appearing on Harry Jowsey's podcast Boyfriend Material, she said: "I always had a rough relationship with my dad.

"That's a deal breaker for me, especially when he had zero accountability and no apology.

"He traumatized my kids. And I have no room for that in my life, and so that was it."

As a mother, Kristin would do whatever it took to repair a broken relationship with one of her kids, but her dad Dennis hasn't even tried to make amends.

She added: "To be honest with you, as a mom, if I had a kid and I really f***** up with my kid and they wanted to cut me out of their life, I would do everything imaginable to not let that happen.

"I would be like, "I am so f****** sorry." Showing up at your house, like, doing everything imaginable and my dad in a lot of ways was like, 'OK.'"

The Hills star has previously spoken about her difficult relationship with her father, describing as a narcissist and a man who would actively gaslight her.

Speaking to psychologist Dr. Sherrie Campbell on her Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari podcast in December 2023, Kristin said: "I actually didn't even realize that my dad was a narcissist until I was an adult.

"I can take the abuse. I have my whole life. But it's like, when you start now messing with my kids, I'm not doing it."
