Immigration New Zealand has filed more charges over the use of unlawful migrant labour in the building and construction sector

Immigration New Zealand has filed more charges over the use of unlawful migrant labour in the building and construction sector

Four charges have been laid against an Auckland-based employer after a visit to a building site in Tamaki found eight construction workers were found to be working unlawfully.

An employer linked to the site is due to appear in the Auckland District Court on July 6.

Employer Ren Yang was charged earlier this month after a separate compliance operation, and appeared in the Waitakere District Court today.

He was remanded without plea and is scheduled to reappear on July 8.
